SendGrid - Best Email API for sending marketing emails
I use SendGrid for sending communication and marketing emails to thousands of customers every day. Sending close to 100,000 emails per month and the quality of service is quite good. Must say I am happy to use SendGrid.
Pros
The best thing about using the SendGrid Email API was the performance measured in terms of email deliverability and server uptime.
The dashboard provides good insights with respect to number of emails sent, delivered and opened. Thus helps a great deal in improving marketing campaigns.
From the deployment point of view, the integration of SendGrid with the existing email service was quite easy and can be completed easily without great efforts.
Cons
As far as technical aspects are concerned, there is nothing which I don't like.
On the pricing front, would like to add my views. Currently, the pricing plans are available as Free (100 emails per day), Essentials and Pro. The Essentials plan starts from 14.95$ per month for upto 40,000 emails a month and the Pro starts at 89.95$ per month. These plans are good for small and medium size websites.
Would be good to see if a new Basic plan is introduced for a low starting price of 4.95$ per month and offering upto 10,000 emails a month. Such a plan would be highly suitable for extra small website applications who have a limited customer base.

Not the best
I would have liked to continue with SendGrid since we spend time upfront in its implementation, but we simply could not continue once we came to the conclusion that it was simply not performing for us as well as other ESPs.
Pros
The pricing and implementation were easy enough but once we ran into some issues with email deliverability I felt like I had to school them on what to do.
Cons
It did not adapt to our needs, primarily deliverability.
Reasons for Switching to SendGrid
I chose all of those options but went with SendGrid originally due to price, ease of implementation and positive email reviews.- Industry: Marketing & Advertising

Email Marketing Made Easy with SendGrid
The necessity to automate our email workflows was one of the most significant business issues we were able to resolve with SendGrid. We were able to easily send emails programmatically and integrate with our existing websites and applications thanks to the SendGrid API integration. As our business expanded, this made it simple to scale our email campaigns and saved us a lot of time.We also saw an improvement in email deliverability rates. Email validation, spam filter testing, and feedback loops are just a few of the features that SendGrid provides to enhance email deliverability. With the assistance of these features, we were able to guarantee that our emails would be delivered to the inboxes of our clients rather than ending up in their spam folders.Last but not least, the email analytics provided by SendGrid were extremely helpful in determining the level of success attained by our email campaigns. To determine what was working and what wasn't, we were able to monitor opens, clicks, bounces, and other metrics. This assisted us with pursuing information driven choices and further develop our email advertising techniques. My overall impression of SendGrid has been very positive. It has aided us in resolving significant business issues.
Pros
A useful tool for managing our business's email campaigns. I was particularly impressed by the email analytics and the integration of the email API.I was able to easily send emails and integrate SendGrid with our existing websites and applications. This made it simple for me to automate our email workflows and saved me a lot of time.Another excellent feature was the email analytics. I was able to monitor email opens, clicks, bounces, and other metrics to assess how well our email campaigns were performing. This assisted us with pursuing information driven choices and further develop our email advertising techniques.Overall, I found SendGrid to be easy to use and understand. The marketing campaign tools were powerful yet simple, and the email templates were simple to customize. Important customer notifications were another use for the transactional email feature. In conclusion, using SendGrid for our company's email campaigns was a great choice for me.
Cons
There were a few areas where I thought there could be more work done.Although the templates themselves were excellent, I occasionally found the editor to be cumbersome and difficult to use. I often had to spend more time tweaking the design than I would have liked, and it could be frustrating to get the formatting just right. The features that make it easier to deliver emails were another area where I thought there was room for improvement. Even though SendGrid has a set of features that help increase email deliverability rates, I still noticed that some of our emails were going to spam folders. Last but not least, the reporting tools occasionally seemed a little overwhelming to me. Although having access to so much information about our email campaigns was wonderful, it could be challenging to know where to begin and how to interpret the results. Overall, I found SendGrid to be a powerful and easy-to-use tool for managing our email campaigns.

After 10 years - they banned by account without notice
I used the service for 10 years, sending telephone call receipts and email notifications from clients sites, not had any issues, then this last year clients started complaining about receiving emails at night. I thought that was odd, turns out that Sendgrid IP address was blacklisted, very expensive to upgrade to a dedicated IP address, so put up with the multitude of issues throughout the year - then last time complained about deliverability I then suddenly got an email to say "We have reviewed your account and have determined that Twilio’s services cannot support the content and/or nature of your business. "
What an absolute JOKE, never host mission-critical email with these clowns - why suddenly an issue after 10 years! and why so careless suspend my account!
Pros
Basic SMTP - no really a lot to like in fact it's awful
Cons
We have reviewed your account and have determined that Twilio’s services cannot support the content and/or nature of your business.
SLOW support

The best mailing solution?
Pros
I think, that SendGrid might be the best solution for e-mail marketing purposes or sending automated e-mails in some sort of user flow. It really speeds up the development. The desktop/mobile formats make it easy to reliably send pre-specified e-mails.
Cons
Some customizations might not be that straight forward for someone.
