Daily business necessity that makes my business run smoother
Not only is their system intuitive, but the customer service agents ACTUALLY like to help you! No fake smiles over the phone or loud exhaling and strained voices. You know which ones I mean ---- the kind you get from employees that don't like their job and it feels like it is a burden to help you. Yeah ---- NEVER have I experienced this with Stripe. They have a beautiful online system, they have happy employees ---- that can only mean Stripe really knows how to stay in business. And THAT is very important for my business because I use them on a daily basis. I love the way I can integrate Stripe onto many online applications for my business --- and continue to have 1 account to manage it all. I love that I can be added as a contributor to other Stripe accounts and access them via 1 single dashboard without needing to login again. Not only does this help me run my business but I am also able to offer custom coding services to others who have Stripe accounts that are trying to implement custom payments on their Wix sites via coding. I love the product and subscriptions payments --- I am able to easily integrate with programs that use my custom Stripe product page for payments so my branding stays consistent. I love that I can have instant pay out or 1 day pay out. I just love Stripe all around and I recommend it to anyone.
Pros
I love how easy the onboarding process was. The dashboard is so intuitive, modern and sleek. When you forget to do something, the notifications remind you of any missing steps you need to complete. I have been using Stripe for over 5 years and when I needed to update my legal documents due to a marriage, the customer service agents were amazing to work with. It went a lot faster than working with the bank! It was very convenient to receive document upload links via text and email. I was blown away that the customer service agent that I was speaking to over the phone was instantly seeing all the documentation I was uploading ---- so he was able to expedite the auditing & approval right away!
Cons
It would be amazing if they would update their mobile app so I can do more on the go. Now with longer wait times at doctors offices --- or traffic jams or on the road ---- it would be great if I could do more from my phone instead of having to log into a laptop. I want to be able to create a client via the Stripe mobile app. I would like to check on my Capital loan. I would like to cancel an invoice via the app or basically manage the basics from my cell phone. Currently the main purpose of the phone is to view transactions, and that's it.

Square PaymentsReasons for Choosing Stripe
Because Wells Fargo had high fee rates and they did not integrate easily with other online apps. Not to mention, their customer support is horrendous.Reasons for Switching to Stripe
I didn't like the Square dashboard. I don't have physical products so I had not use for their POS system. They do not integrate easily with other online applications. They don't have an easy API to integrate. It does not integrate with Wix for subscription products. And their customer service was less than helpful when trying to engage with them before onboarding.- Industry: Education Management

We are very happy with Stripe
Pros
We used a lot of payment gateways over the years and Stripe is the most reliable and easy to use. We highly recommend Stripe.
Cons
That there is no recourse if someone unjustly demands a refund, but that is a bank issue, not a Stripe issue. But it is something the industry needs to address. :)

Almost Destroyed My Business - Stripe Stole From Us
We implemented Stripe because of its ease of use but it’s turned out to be a nightmare. It’s as though Stripe decided that we are not a legitimate company and targeted us to prove it at any cost.
Every few weeks we were asked to produce the same previously requested documents. We have never had a single customer dispute yet they unilaterally decided we were high risk and returned recently charged purchases to our clients who have already stayed at our vacation rental.
We went viral with over 5.5 million views of an influencer’s video which caused had a huge uptick in business. I’m not sure if the volume of business caused Stripe to be concerned. They requested a selfie and an upload of the ID they already had on file. After I uploaded the selfie and my US Passport I got a notification that I was now good to go. This was followed by an email two hours later that we were deemed to be too risky and funds would be returned to our clients.
Stripe then took money from our bank account and I assume will be sending it to clients who have already stayed at our property. We are hoping these funds will be returned to us.
In a nutshell, Stripe stole from us - there were no customer complaints. We contacted the customers and are praying they will send thousands of dollars back to us using another method of payment.
Pros
Ease of integration with the company I selected for my property management system.
Cons
Countless re-verification requests with no favorable response after sending business registration and several forms of IDs.
Extremely poor customer service with lengthy waiting times for retuned calls.
They made the decision to stop supporting my business without a single customer complaint or request for a refund.
They rejected payments from a lot of international clients based in Canada and the UK. This caused me to lose a lot of bookings.

Best for small business
Great, hope that if I need customer service it is a better experience.
Pros
Stripe was super easy to integrate, easy for clients to pay, and never have issues.
Cons
I can't see a report detailing what client paid what, but my other program does that for me. Customer support when I switched banks took them 4 weeks of not listening to me to fix my accounts. They asked for the same documentation over 8 times literally. Once fixed though, it was fixed.

Third world country scripted robotic responses like Telstra but with your finances
My account has been hacked, but I have no idea when I will be called back. If you do a google search for stripe reviews you will see the amount of bad reviews by people saying how bad it is and their experience with customer service.
Pros
Imagine something bad happens and your account gets hacked or something happens. You notify stripe but have no idea for over a week of what is happening. Every time you contact the support on the website they ignore your email or when you request a phone call (which they can't ignore) they provided scripted, robotic, phillipino responses, time after time. You are not speaking to a human being with a beating heart, you are speaking to CHAT GPT like people that cannont deviate from their script. You are completely at their mercy for what they want to do - there is NO ONE in your home country you will ever be able to call or speak. Mean while the bank account that the money is being deposited into could be getting drained but guess
Cons
customer support is one of the worst I've ever experienced for financial products. these people should not be able to be contact someone in their home country for emergency help, but they are ALL located in the phillipines

Stripe for Online Business Owners
I really have enjoyed using stripe! I am so grateful for a secure place to take clients payments.
Pros
I really love that Stripe integrates with so many different platforms. I love that you can set up autopayments so that I can set up memberships with ease, and don't have to chase anyone down for their monthly fees.

Stripe is easy and flexible for setting up first-time billing for new products
Stripe has been a great partner for enabling payments for products for us and the support on chat and phone has been crucial for our setup when documentation hasn't been enough.
Pros
Pretty easy to set up many flexible options for subscriptions and has a simple UX for navigating metrics and overall health of the business. Great support too
Cons
Wish ACH credit transfer method could be removed so autopay could be made easier. The whole process for setting up recurring payments initially is not too straightforward and required help for us

Payment processing to suit your needs
Originally, we were looking to implement metered subscriptions for our SaaS offering, and we needed something that would integrate with a solution for WordPress. Stripe had exactly what we needed, and has continued to be our preferred payments solution for any new services we offer.
Pros
The flexibility of Stripe is enormous. Every little detail can be customized (or not), as your business needs dictate. The documentation and testing environments are extremely developer-friendly, the docs even include real examples from your activity in the testing environment.
With all that, it's not difficult to get up and going with all the various implementations available. For the simplest use, signup, grab your keys, and plugin them into your e-commerce software.
Cons
This was so much easier than working with PayPal, I really can't think of anything negative. But perhaps something I like "least"?
That would probably be the settings section for tweaking things like payment receipts, logos, colors, etc. Seems I have to go hunting a bit to find just what I'm looking for, though it doesn't take long, and once you have it setup, it's not like you'll have to change the settings often.

Robust But Confusing Software
In general, Stripe has worked well for us after we made the switch two years ago when we updated our website. The best feature for us is the ability to have monthly donors running through Stripe, which has helped our monthly donations increase. I would recommend Stripe to other non-profits but with the caution that it was not built for non-profits and that it can be tricky to understand - I would not recommend it to someone that wasn't at least somewhat tech-savvy and capable of figuring out how it all works.
Pros
Stripe has been beneficial for processing donations through our website. Our favorite feature is that it can do both one-time and recurring donations so our monthly donors can run through it as well as the donors who give once or sporadically. It can collect a lot of information that can all be exported out of Stripe for our donor database. We like that you can choose when funds will be automatically transferred to your bank account and change it when necessary - for example, for most of the year we have it transfer funds weekly. However, at year-end when donations are very high we switch to daily transfers. There is also the option to do manual transfers as well. Donations are grouped into "batches" when transfers are done so you can make sure the bank transfer matches the batch amount in Stripe and also matches the amount entered in the donor database (if you're a non-profit). You can also easily refund someone if needed, which has been helpful several times. Overall, this software does what it needs to do and has some great functionality along with it.
Cons
Stripe was a bit of a learning curve for us because it is clearly intended for for-profit companies or small businesses rather than non-profits. There are many features we don't use that I wish could be turned off or hidden so that it was one less thing lingering on the dashboard. Another thing that is difficult is that Stripe ties everything to an email address rather than a person's name, so if you are trying to find a specific person but don't know their email address it can be hard to find them in the system. In general, their support team is pretty helpful and easy to work with but it's all done through chat and email - there have been times where it would've been much more helpful if we could have talked on the phone while looking at Stripe together.

Best transaction processing I've used
Really really good experience overall. I've used many different payment processors, and Stripe has remained my favorite, by far, for the past few years. I'll be sticking with them for as long as I possibly can.
Pros
Stripe makes it so incredibly simple to process all my client transactions, and provides detailed reporting on all the money coming in and out of my business. Stripe's interface for viewing individual transactions, where they came from, their current status, the processing fees associated with them, and any other details I could possibly want to know is just magnificent. It's incredibly easy for me to find out anything I need at any given time for any transaction, which makes it easy for me to communicate with clients when it comes to status of their payments. Plus, I always know exactly when money is going to be transferred to my business bank account, which makes planning for expenses that much easier.
Cons
Honestly, my experience using Stripe has been pretty much 100% positive. For my uses, there aren't many cons, if any. I guess processing fees kinda stink, but that's going to be a reality for any payment processor, and Stripe's fees are comparable to market standard with any other processor out there.
Reasons for Switching to Stripe
I really prefer Stripe's dashboard interface, how they present transaction information, just how much information they provide about each transaction, and also the customer-facing experience of using Stripe (simple to understand, automated receipts). Essentially, Stripe has proven to be the easiest, most informative, and most intuitive payment processor I've used.- Industry: Consumer Services

I was the target of fraud and stripe could care less
Horrible. It cost us so much money. It was a waste of time, money, product and resources to contest chargebacks, cancel orders, return money and deal with legitimate customers since using this product. We though lower fees would save us money, but boy were we wrong. This is the single biggest regret since I started my business.
Pros
It is easy to use. Fast to set up and you can start receiving payments right away.
Cons
Like it says in the title. I was the victim of fraud big time. Stripe let a ton of sales through even though we had the fraud settings on the highest level. We lost the product, the money in the account was taken out and stripe charged us a fee for every chargeback we received. We were never able to contact stripe: it was automated massages after automated messages. Their only solution was: give us more money in the form of a service called "fraud radar" but you had to manually review each payment with meaningless tools that didn't work and they didn't guarantee anything.

Handsdown the Best Payment Processor
It's the best. Don't ever think of considering any other payment processer than a stripe. They are best at what they are doing. This company started in front of me, and now it's one of the largest payment processors in the world. The dashboard, the entire system is extremely easy to use.
Pros
It's easy, relatively cheap, and easy to signup and set up. Have plugins for almost all major E-Commerce platforms. Relatively low transaction fees and thanks to stripe radar you get less fraudulent orders. Modern dashboard. If you get a chargeback it's really easy to fight back. Amazingly fast support. This software is our business backbone.
Cons
To be honest, I haven't found a single issue with this software. Just sometimes their verification can take a bit of time.

The Best Payment Processing Solution
I have been using Stripe for a few months now and I am very pleased with the service. It is simple to set up and use and the fees are very fair. The customer service is top-notch. The only thing I would change is the amount of time it takes for payments to be deposited into my bank account.
Pros
Stripe is an incredibly easy to use payment processing solution that has been a lifesaver for my business. The setup process was simple and the fees are very reasonable. They provide excellent customer service and it is easy to customize the payment processing settings to fit your business needs.
Cons
The only downside to using Stripe is that it takes a few days for payments to be deposited into the bank account. This can be a bit of a nuisance if you need the money right away.

Payment Processing For Busy Owners
I have had a very positive experience with Stripe. I started with them using their express integration with a few other softwares. I switched in January 2023 to the full software and have enjoyed it since.
Pros

It's what I use to process payments!
I am pleased with them so far, I have heard from colleagues saying they can easily process millions per year in Stripe and without issues so I am looking forward to continuing to grow with this payment processor by my side.
Pros
I used to use my bank's merchant for 3-4 years, thinking they were giving me a better rate. long story short, they weren't AND they were confusing to use. So I switched to Stripe, which is frequently used in my field of coaching and digital products. I have been very happy so far.
- I am able to process payments myself, it integrate with 3rd party shopping carts with ease (I use ThriveCart), it allows to create trials, subscriptions, all the things I wanted. PLUS I get to charge and bill clients on my own too with their cards on file which sometimes we have to do when the clients tell us to do so, instead of having to send constant shopping cart links. I was doing that before with Infusionsoft and my merchant, but now I can do it all within Stripe and it's easy.
- I have not had any issues with Stripe holding my funds or anything. Pleased.
- I like their simple reporting as well, how much money you've made each day, etc. It's nice to see the comparisons on the monthly basis as well.
Cons
- It's a bit complicated to use for someone who might not be techy. I am pretty techy and I think I've got a handle on it, especially since I mainly use it as the processor with my shopping cart, but if I had to use Stripe on its own, it probably would get complicated.
- Sometimes I find it hard to find what I need to in Stripe. Like, a payment would get declined and I'd want to rebill or attempt the rebill - sometimes it's hard to find the option to do that on the declined payment. I always do eventually find it, but I never know EXACTLY how to do it.
- I wish the payments landed in my bank sooner but I just switched it so it lands in my bank like a day or so after being collected which is better. My own merchant would be next day so this is now closer.
- Obviously always would be nicer if the fees were lower but it is on par with every other option out there so this can't really be a con since it's not HIGHER.

Easy Integration for a Variety of Content Management Systems
Customer service is excellent, the product itself is excellent, and it fulfills all of our needs and the needs of our clients.
Pros
Stripe is by far the most secure, easy to use, and easily integrated service of its type. We work with organizations both large and small, and whether a client has team members who are going to be working in their CMS after their website is designed or not, Stripe is the best option. It is easy to use, even for beginners and even those who are not designers and developers, and the fact that it doesn't allow hackers to add code to the checkout page protects our clients better than any other system we've seen. We recommend a Stripe integration for every single client who has an online store or sells any number of products online.
Cons
It does require some knowledge of front end development to integrate with many CMS platforms, even Wordpress. It's not necessarily the easiest to setup, even if you know your way around Wordpress or drag and drop design platforms. The only other downside is that checkout forms are not customizable. This is actually not a bad downside for us because the reason they are not so is due to the inability to add custom code to the checkout form, making it more secure. Trading customization for security is a no brainer on our end, but if you are an agency with a picky client, or if you just really want a custom checkout form, Stripe won't work for you. Then again, if you're willing to have your customer's credit card information stolen just because you refuse to use a templated checkout form that looks modern and is efficient and easy to use, your opinion sucks anyway.

Stripe's dispute resolution policies are never in favour of the seller
I am in the process of terminating my account with Stripe. It's a joke. The amount of headache and lost business they caused is not worth it. It is easy to set up but after that nothing is easy with Stripe.
Pros
Easy to deploy and has various integrations available
Cons
Allocations are a nightmare. Stripe is taking out their commission and the remaining amount is paid into your account, several client transactions in one payment - reconciliations are extremely difficult and I've never received one invoice from Stripe for their commission. They simply deduct their share and transfer the rest to you without any paper trail. In addition, every time there is a dispute, it is never settled in the seller's favour even when the supporting evidence and paperwork supplied to Stripe clearly shows that the purchase was valid, agreed and approved by the buyer, signed-off by them and the service used by them. The response from Stripe is never in the seller's favour. Finally - it happens at least a few times a month that Stripe rejects the transaction as suspicious and prevents prospects from buying our products. It often happens that clients contact us outside of the Stripe's workflow and finalise payment manually because Stripe is rejecting their cards and by extension is not allowing us to close the sale.

Can't get better!
Overall, the sheer ease of use, set up, convenience and payment processing is the absolute best and the current industry-standard for a lot of start-ups and small businesses. Their fees are competitive, payment processing is quick and efficient and security is industry-standard for an extra peace of mind for you and your clients. It's all straightforward to use and the host of analytics, metrics and reporting features make it easy for you to keep tabs on your payments. I literally can't think of a better system.
Pros
Convenience is king when it comes to Stripe. Invoicing and billing is an absolute breeze and takes a matter of minutes to set up. Once you have your account ready to go, creating an invoice is simple and straightforward. All you need is the recipient's name, email and business address and you're good to go. You may want to include invoice information, though the length of that depends on your own needs and can often be done outside of Stripe if you have SOW's in place, so generally only needs a brief outline of what the invoice is for. Once you've filled in your payee's information, it generates a secure payment link for online payments that has industry-standard encryption and top-of-the-line security for their peace of mind. Then, it's up to you to send off the link and for the payee to fill the invoice. The whole process of setting up payments is an absolute breeze takes next-to-no time at all. Other than convenience of payments, their reporting and analytics, ease of set and use, information archiving and security is simple to set up and use. Everything is provided at a glance and you often won't have to spend no more than a few minutes in your account.
Cons
One potential improvement, especially in the scope of remote-based teams, could be to allow contributors into the account with restricted access. For instance, when I need an invoice in my particular role, I'd have to have this approved via the manager, though this could be done a lot quicker if there was some sort of 'guest' or restricted staff access that would allow me to only create invoices in order to save time in creating and having them approved. Of course this would vary from business to business and you'd need a certain level of seniority, however I think this feature could be a huge opportunity to increase convenience even further.

Best payment processing gateway yet
Nothing short of amazing. I've used Stripe since at least 5 years ago and to see how far they've come today, it's only going to get better.
Pros
Stripe has always been known to be ahead of the payment processing game and the new features that are rolled out every now and then just continue to solidify their position. I like their API access and documentation most, compared to other payment processing gateways.
Cons
The dashboard can be a little cluttered and overwhelming for non-tech savvy users. I particularly face this problem with business owners and accountants when getting them to use Stripe as an online payment processing gateway. But when they get used to the UI, they never look back.
