It is my daily and personal business hub.

This platform is my day to day within my profession because with it it is easier for me to consult potential clients and in turn have contacts scheduled where I can easily add scheduled appointments and link it to the calendar. It also makes it easier for me to be able to manage tasks with coworkers and share them within Microsoft Teams without having to manually pass the information since everything is linked to Outlook.Outlook also allows me to carry my documents without the need to use USB flash drives to be able to manage documents and files, thanks to the fact that it can be directly connected to Office I can view and edit documents in any browser or start a session on any Windows desktop to be able to access my documents and files, making my job much easier. Another thing is that I can share these documents with clients and work team without having to download the document, it is enough to give access to the different interested people so that these people can see both documents and shared files. That is why Outlook is my main work tool because it is not only a simple email, but it is also my calendar, office space, mail, space for team conversation and much more. Therefore, this platform is part of my routine both for my daily activities within my company and for working collaboratively with my team, such as reading emails, checking agents and communicating with clients.

Pros

I like that it's not just based on a simple email service, but that it's also a workspace where I can have linked calendars, tasks, contacts, storage, and even documents. This has helped me keep everything in sync without having to go to other platforms to do the same thing, instead I can do everything from the same Outlook account. So, if I need to have a quick note taking with the To Do application on my smartphone, I can have my notes at all times and synchronize it with my Outlook account and be able to view my notes in Windows or any browser where I am logged in, the same goes for my calendar and all linked apps. The free storage has been pretty accurate with regard to the amount of space I need, I currently have over 5K of emails and a large number of attachments, added to documents that I have in Office plus files uploaded to Drive, still I have not managed to reach the 15GB that Outlook offers me, so I consider it to be a fair amount. The plans are not bad at all, apart from giving a large amount of storage it also offers a premium for Office of the web application and other Microsoft 365 tools, this being quite useful because I do not have to pay separately for each Microsoft application that is linked to Outlook.

Cons

Since Hotmail.com upgraded to Outlook years ago, there hasn't been an improvement in performance in any of the services that this platform offers, so since the makeover, everything loads very slowly. I was quite disappointed that this hasn't improved because before everything loaded quickly but now everything is a very slow process, sometimes I click to open an email and it takes a long time to view the content. The way this platform is designed is a bit confusing and it's hard to get to specific tools, the design should be improved a bit to be simpler and not have a bunch of tools on display where I mostly get lost. So, it wouldn't hurt to have a polished interface to make it much easier to navigate, especially if you're trying to connect all the applications in the same workspace and it's not the email that appears but also other applications that Outlook has.

The world's worst email system, surely?

I hate it, as does everyone working for the Country Calendar television show team. If TVNZ doesn't give us another option soon, we'll just walk away and start using Gmail. I've already reserved appropriate email addresses on Gmail. Honestly, it's so much better!

Pros

Nothing much, except that it can be used either from my PC or online.

Cons

The appalling address book and autofill of people's email addresses. Our IT people don't seem to know how to fix it, either.

Perfect web mail service

Microsoft Outlook is nice, fast, convenient and is clearly the best web mail service on the world.

Pros

I like the user friendly environment, dark mode, assistance with e-mail addresses, automatic sorting of emails, notification of calendar events, automatic and stable synchronisation with other calendars.

Cons

In my opinion, this product is perfect and I have not found any issue during five years of use. I would welcome a possible improvement, the possibility of displaying email titles in different colors by type.

Outlook is the best email option

Overall I am very happy with Outlook and get a lot of satisfaction from using it.

Pros

I like how in Outlook all my content comes together. I can easily invite people to meetings online and I can easily share files through onedrive and sharepoint.

Cons

The main issue is the email composition. It could have smarter features like predictive text that is found on Gmail and it could have better search functionality.

An app that I use every day.

For me it has been exceptional to have my account with Microsoft Outlook that has allowed me to be in communication at any time and anywhere.

Pros

I have been using this application for many years where it has always worked perfectly for my work and my personal life, the creation and sending of emails are safe and fast to arrive, it has never failed me and its easy use allows us to be in constant communication through the emails and very easily classify messages by categories

Cons

In all the years that I have been using Microsoft Outlook I have never had any problem or felt that something was missing from the application.

App Keeps getting every Year

Overall, I still love the app.

Pros

What I love about the software is the ability to add different email addresses. This saves my computer a ton of ram because I don't need to have those email opened on my browser.

I also love the ability how SharePoint and outlook are all connected, thus allowing me to use Power Query on a spreadsheet to view certain data I want to see or evaluate.

Cons

I don't like how the app still includes certain features on the web version that it isn't available on the app itself.

Web Outlook allows you to create a "Microsoft To Do Task" by just highlighting any text inside the body of your mail, meanwhile outlook as an app is unable to do so.

Also, I don't like that Outlook takes Storage away from my computer per every email I setup, so for those who´s got a laptop of 128GB or less. I don't personally recommend having too many accounts.
I manage 4 email and I had to keep one away because that mail was eating too much GB from my computer storage.

Outlook 356 (Desktop App )

Compared to other email clients and even Outlook Web, this version (Outlook desktop) provides a lot of power and since it is bundled with the other apps in MS Office 365, using it is a no-brainer. We use it mostly for general business emails and receiving notice of store orders. We have used it for bulk mailing but it is not the easiest to use for that.

Pros

It is easy to use for end users; allows for extensive customization; allows for integration with MS Word and Excel; allows easy, attractive formatting of emails.

Cons

Some features are only available depending on what type of email server is managing your service. For instance, you cannot easily just "turn on" an out-of-office auto-reply unless your email comes from an Exchange server. If you are on an IMAP or POP server, you have to create a rule using a template email and it's much more involved. It can have trouble searching large mailboxes. It does not like running the same account/profile on more than one PC (emails visible on one are not always available/visible on the other).

Alternatives Considered

ProtonMail and Thunderbird

Reasons for Switching to Microsoft Outlook

Stability; availability in MS Office which we already used; can use with any email hosting provider.

Connecting People Together Virtually

Microsoft is a lifesaver for every professional whether it comes to being an awesome email client or an instant meeting/calendar scheduler, In a world where we have moved away from physical paper and files, this is the one-stop solution for maintaining that communication chain.

it is not software but a revolution for connecting people together. It keeps the communication chain unbroken.

Pros

The Best Features

1. Light Weight Client application for both mobile and desktop helps seamless integration with any number of email accounts
2. Integration with Microsoft Teams best for scheduling online meetings and custom reminders are very helpful
3. Calendar is a great feature that helps us manage the time and schedule things without conflicting with others
4. Integration with third-party plugins
5. Automatic replies & mail recall is the hidden gem of this product
6. Offline availability

Cons

The UI keeps on changing and it becomes difficult to find the options that we use as their placements are frequently changed, Microsoft should avoid changing it too often or at least keep things /Proper Icons in place. Else we end up googling for existing features after every update

Best Choise for Email Management and Productivity

Microsoft Outlook Kind of must-have for e-mail management. Its integration with other Microsoft Office applications make it a valuable tool for managing all aspects of work in one place.

Microsoft Outlook to be a powerful tool for managing emails, calendar, and tasks. The platform's integration with other Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel, makes it easy to manage all aspects of my work in one place. The ability to create and manage email rules, as well as the built-in spam filters, has also helped me keep my inbox organized and free of clutter.

Cons

Its may cause experience stability issues, including crashes and slow performance, which can be frustrating. Additionally, the platform's search functionality can be limited, making it difficult for users to find specific emails or information.

Great for Work

My overall experience with Outlook is great and helps me stay professional as a freelancer. It also helps save time because I can send mass-emails from Word just using my contact list (in Excel) without having to send one by one or adding people in BCC.

Pros

It's definitely the professional tool to go with for work. What I love the most is being able to add rules and categories by color.

Cons

There is just one thing that I would recommend to be updated: being able to drag and drop photos into the body of the email instead of being attached. It works on the web version but not on the desktop-installed version.

Truly an enterprise level communications solution, much more than just emails!

Overall, it is a great product packed with capabilities and is constantly improving by the day. It forms the foundation for any successful work environment and the parent company Microsoft is very good about listening to their users feedback and offering solutions in a timely manner as well.

Pros

I'm going to begin with the ease of use and how there is virtually no connectivity issues. Some of my favorite features are the integrations with other tools in the Microsoft Suite like Teams, SharePoint, Delve, Analytics, Stream, OneDrive etc. I love the calendar capabilities and scheduling assistant that quickly helps me find available times. The search bar is excellent and returns valuable and accurate results. Some of the analytics offered by outlook is also very helpful as it tells me how long on average I spend writing/reading emails, in meetings etc. vs how much focus time I actually have to work. Automation is another huge area that adds a lot of value. Being able to set automatic replies and make it custom as needed. Outlook also allows to create generic groups and inboxes and listservs very easily.

Cons

Grouping emails is still pretty difficult and manual. If outlook would create themes or containers based on the content in the email or the subject line, it would make it more easier for me to prioritize. Also which emails need my attention immediately vs the ones that can wait a bit longer. I've had a lot of trouble with rescheduling meetings and that sending the right timely updates to the invitees. Sometimes it is delayed and sometimes never goes out and Outlook sometimes does have some syncing issues as well. Creating signatures for different purposes was also slightly difficult. No way to unsend an email still and that would be helpful.

Microsoft Outlook is great to use

Pros

Microsoft's email system is one of the best solutions out there. Microsoft does a very thorough job fine tuning Outlook and what you use is one of the best email platforms out there. I also really like that you can remote login into any device on your network when you use Microsoft products like Outlook. If you get a new laptop or tablet, you can still sign in with your Microsoft credentials and find your Outlook the exact same way.

Cons

Microsoft is not cheap. Yes, Outlook is robust but Microsoft is very expensive, especially when you compare it to its main competitors like Google or iCloud. Microsoft also doesn't have a lot of native tools that help with data analytics but they do offer it on their dashboards. If you use Microsoft and want data to support any finance, IT, or really any business decision, you will likely need to purchase a separate software tool and integrate it so you can use Outlook and get helpful and meaningful data that you can use and explain what is going on to the rest of your business.

IF you HATE Gmail - you will LOVE Outlook!

I use outlook for my personal projects and work. Generaly, I am working on google ecosystem, but I managed to make it work for me as I have several accounts on google and microsoft and some issues would be inevitable.
Outlook for me is a great email tool that I use when I am in the hurry or ant to create something on the nice software with great interface!

Pros

Outlook is am amazing email management tool.
I have started using during my years in the university as it was using microsoft ecosystem.
At first it felt unfriendly after gmail, but after little time I noticed an amazing UI/UX, I played around to discover the possibilities, extentions and functionality and it is awesome!

All you have about gmail is simply gone here.
Of course, it has some flaws, but in general, it give you everything in terms of email management (personal or business)

Cons

Microsoft ecosystem in general is a drawback here. If you are a poweruser like myself, you are probably familiar, how hard it is to switch from one ecosystem to another. Yes, outlook is great, but is onedrive better then google drive? - hard to say. Many people like google drive.
And now we have google photos as well, and google calendar. All work perfectly together and if you switch to outlook, something might be lost.
This is the biggest drawback.

Overal, outlook is very nice product and I am happy to see its evolution into something better each year!

A staple for businesses who need professional email management

Overall, I highly recommend Microsoft Outlook to anyone looking for a comprehensive and efficient email client. Whether you are a business professional, student, or just need to manage your personal emails, Outlook has everything you need to be productive and organized

Pros

What I like best about Outlook is how it seamlessly integrates with other Microsoft Office tools, such as Word and Excel. This allows me to easily switch between applications and access the information I need in one place. The calendar and task management features are also top-notch, allowing me to keep track of appointments and deadlines with ease.

Cons

What I dislike about Outlook is that it can be slow and laggy at times, especially when dealing with a large amount of emails. However, this is a minor inconvenience in comparison to the many benefits that Outlook provides.

The best suitable method for all needs to manage and organize e-mail

Pros

Microsoft Outlook is easy to use and contains calendar, contacts and all the tools you need to manage everything related to your email in one place. Microsoft Outlook increases interaction with email, and you will be able to send messages in distinctive formats due to the strong integration with the rest of the Office applications, which makes it easy for you to insert texts and tables Format it as you wish. I love how email addresses are logged, adding notes, and scheduling meetings in simple steps. One of my favorite features of Microsoft Outlook is the ability to plan to send emails at specific times, it can also have meetings, tasks and contacts on many windows, which can be an excellent system for managing tasks between different employees who can delegate productivity throughout our company . I trust their security and the layers of protection they provide for data.

MS Outlook vs the rest

I really hate GMail, I think the UX is horrible, and Thunderbird is okay but a bit confusing and not so good with text formatting. I think Outlook has all the features I need and the UX that I feel more adequate, although of course this is a very personal issue.

Pros

I use Outlook, a lot. It's always open, I'm always emailing and receiving emails. I have tried Mail from MacOs, Thunderbird and a bunch others, and I have to say Outlook is the one I feel most comfortable with. It's easy to use, has all the features that I need and it can be personalised a little bit to accommodate for almost anybody.

Cons

The only con is that you have to pay for it, as opposed to GMail, Thunderbird, etc. But this is probably the piece of software I use the most and I spent most time with, so to me it's okay to pay for it.

My least favorite app from Microsoft Suite

Overall it's not as bad as Lotus Notes used to be, where email addresses were not stores, and we had to remember exact spelling of each.
If search functionality would improve, it would be an amazing app.

Pros

my whole career (20 years) I worked in large companies - so choice between email is pretty much between Outlook and Lotus Notes, and Outlook is light years easier to use than Notes.
On a plus side -
*It remembers your contacts, and names auto populate next time to start entering them.
*It integrates well with your company messaging tool (so show what contacts are online)
*Out of Office is easy to use

Cons

*Search functionality can be greatly improved. As unbelievable as it sounds Gmail has a much better Search engine, and I would gladly exchange it for all fancy but not as useful add-ins outlook has.
*Hard to sort emails. If I am looking for email from Jack Zinger, and I am sorting alphabetically - I need to go through all email from all other persons named Jack first, unless I find Zinger's email, and sort there.
*Meetings are not complicated to set up, but you need to go back and forth until option to invite attendees appears. I don;'t understands why its not offered immediately.

Easy to access the mail service and friendly support for customized subscriptions of the application. The scheduling option is quite good and mobile access of the mails is very useful at the times.

Cons

The looks and feel of outlook is very likeable but only thing i feel is for mobile application this could be improved and some more text formatting options could be included to ease the work even more.

Our go to email App

Overall the experience is great and our go to for checking my business emails as well adding our clients admin emails for their websites so we can have it all work from one system to make it easier to stay on top of any website issues as well as any critical updates etc that need to be done.

Pros

Setting up server based emails is simple and easy on outlook and unlike Gmail, their fetch rate is faster. We also get to determine for ourselves as a business what goes to spam and what stays in the inbox. It allows us to be in charge. We like the integrations with other software we use like Zoom and Calendly. Also mobile access is a plus for when we are on the run. Integration with Hub Spot is also very useful. We also like that we have a booking system in place that will allow us to schedule our free appointments.

Cons

The online browser version is different from the App and this is annoying. Once you get accustomed to the computer App the online browser based version seems clunky and inefficient. It would be great if we could get stats on our emails as well as if it auto added or asked if would like to add contacts that we email several times.
